There’s a little bit of a rock icons flavour to our 2nd July sale, giving you the chance to own a piece of rock history:On September 27th 1977 at The New York Club Trax, the PR launch took place for The Rolling Stones Love you Live double album, the artwork for which Andy Warhol stepped up to the plate. He also designed the tablecloths used at the event taking polaroid pictures of the band for use at the party which he and The Stones attended. There were twelve vinyl tablecloths produced and a further twelve on paper. They were never available to the general public. Adam Edwards, a local celebrated journalist was New York correspondent for News Limited Australia, Rupert Murdoch’s US bureau at the time. He was sent to the launch and was given the tablecloth by Rolling Stones PR, so now is your opportunity to own that piece of rock and roll history. The piece is now framed and glazed and has an estimate of £2,000-3,000.
