COVID-19 Update

UPDATE - 5th November 2020 

The Government recently announced a full national lockdown in England which comes in to force today, Thursday November 5, following a continuing rise in COVID-19 rates across the country.

The priority of the firm remains the health and welfare of both our employees and clients.  As a multi-disciplinary firm we work across several sectors and the guidance varies.  Please see below for our operational practice between 5th November and 2nd December:

Estate and Letting agents – In line with Government guidance our offices in Cirencester and Lechlade are permitted to remain open for business to support home movers. We have taken the decision that although we will maintain a presence in the office, physical interaction with clients and others will be by appointment only.

Agriculture – the Agriculture teams will alternate between working remotely and office attendance in order to service the business and client needs. Wherever possible home working is encouraged in line with the current Government guidance.

Auction Rooms – The Government has stated that art and antique auctioneers in England will be able to continue trading behind closed doors. The salerooms will continue to operate online and have a (reduced) staff on premises for collection and delivery by appointment only. 

Central Services – our support team will be based at home, rotating office attendance according to business requirements.

UPDATE - 24th July 2020
Following the latest Government Guidance for the Protection of All

The Government has confirmed that from 24th July most people entering a wide range of premises including shops, banks, supermarkets and auction houses will need to wear a face covering.

Whilst our office teams are not required to wear face covering unless they are unable to socially distance, for your safety and that of our teams we kindly ask that when you visit one of our offices please wear a face covering (unless you are exempt) and please do not enter the premises if you are showing any COVID-19 symptoms.

UPDATE - 13th July 2020
Open for business and focused on the future

Without a doubt the Covid19 pandemic has reshaped the immediate future on a global scale.

At Moore Allen & Innocent, although we are mindful of our heritage and attentive to the present, we are also firmly focussed on the future.

We seek to embrace the opportunities that arise from change and to continue to provide our clients with objective advice and exceptional service.

Whilst our priority is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our clients and our colleagues, without exception we are seeing increased activity across all of our services and we are here to help.

Following recent Government announcements, we have reopened our offices albeit implementing appropriate social distancing and hygiene measures as well as minimising unnecessary contact points and those activities which may carry higher risks.

At this time a number of our team also continue to work remotely, so we would advise that should you wish to speak with a specific individual, that you first make contact with them to arrange a specific time and so that, if necessary, we can organise a private, Covid-secure meeting space.

UPDATE - 13th May 2020
We’re Gradually Reopening

The recent times have been challenging for everyone, but we are now starting to see some positive signs and light at the end of the tunnel.

On 12th May, Government advice was updated to allow property viewings, prepare properties for sale or rent and moving home - effectively restarting the property market.

Whilst there is no specific mention of social distancing, it goes without saying that it is expected that all of these activities need to happen whilst maintaining a safe distance from others. There is a lot of reliance on all of us to use our common-sense.

We’re Beginning the Process of Reopening Our Offices 

In light of these announcements we will be starting to bring our property teams back into the offices in a considered, sensible and safe manner.

Our top priority is to protect our staff, our customers and the general population as a whole and, by following the strict social distancing guidelines, we can ensure that we are able to reopen our businesses in a safe, COVID-secure way.

 It is exceptional that so many of us are working remotely at the same time.  As a result, our response times could be affected. We are trying to prioritise responding to urgent requests or those from the more vulnerable, so please bear with us if we do not get back to you as quickly as we normally would.

Safely Visiting Our Offices

To make sure that we are doing everything possible to reduce the risk of infection, keep our staff and customers safe and make our business COVID-secure, we are introducing a series of social distancing measures in our offices. These will include:

  • All offices are being professionally cleaned on a regular basis to ensure that the hygiene of our offices is the best it can be.
  • We will be providing hand sanitiser, wipes and facilities to wash hands.
  • We have installed floor and boundary markings and barriers inside our buildings to assist you staying 2 metres apart from others at all times.
  • Certain areas of our business will be restricted to a few people at a time, or entirely out of bounds to visitors. These areas will be clearly marked, and we ask you to respect the signs and rules displayed.
  • Our staff will be keeping their distance at all times, so while we’ll still be friendly and polite when greeting you, please do not think that we are being rude when we don’t offer to shake your hand.
  • When it comes to taking payment, we recommend that you pay using contactless or online payment facilities where at all possible.

Property Visits

Where visits can be postponed or alternative options are available, we will endeavour to avoid visits to occupied properties. However, where property visits are requested or unavoidable, we are operating a number of measures to reduce the risk of infection and to keep people as safe as possible.

These will include pre-visit screening questions for attendees to any meetings, avoiding handshaking and other contact, using hand wipes and sanitiser, keeping a 2-metre distance where at all possible, and wearing protective gloves, face masks, etc if requested or where Government advice dictates.

Valuations

We are confident that our technology and best practices will enable us to provide a continuity of service irrespective of the location of our people or the length of time that any alternative working arrangements may be required.

Should you require a valuation whether for sale, rent, probate, auction or insurance, we are still able to provide home visits in many circumstances or alternatively these can be provided via email or video link. Please contact a member of the relevant team to discuss your requirements.

Auctions

We have a number of upcoming fine art /antique and agricultural machinery auctions in the pipeline which will proceed as soon as Government guidance allows.

We will continue to monitor developments closely, and check, modify and update our plans in accordance with Government advice and keep customers informed via our regular mailouts and the ‘news’ section of our website.

UPDATE - 24th March 2020
Open for Business – just working remotely!

Following advice from the UK Government we have temporarily closed our offices and the majority of our teams across the sales, lettings, auctions, professional services and rural departments have moved to remote working until further notice.

We are, however, still very much ‘Open for Business’ and our teams are working remotely but together in order to support our clients and colleagues via telephone and email, doing everything possible to maintain the high levels of service you would expect from us.

The office telephones are on divert and will be answered during office hours but if you need to speak with a specific member of staff, please refer to the Contact Us section of our website where you will find the mobile numbers and email addresses for key team members.
