DEFRA has announced today that environmental stewardship and countryside stewardship agreement holders who have not as yet received the full payment for the 2015-18 annual revenue claim should receive a Treasury-funded payment in July.
The payment should be for 100% of the estimated claim value recorded by the RPA. Agreement holders who are affected by this should receive a letter from the RPA confirming this position and more detailed information is available on the https://www.gov.uk/ website.
These payments are effectively bridging payments, with the RPA continuing to process the annual revenue claims. If there is subsequently found to be a difference then appropriate measures will follow.
Once the payment is made in July, a remittance advice should be received, giving a breakdown. This will be welcome news for farmers and landowners who are affected by the ongoing problems; cashflow has been of real concern to many of those claimants.
