WAKE UP IN KATE MOSS'S BED THIS CHRISTMAS . . .
from as little as £200

AUCTIONEERS in Cirencester will be making Christmas wishes come true this Friday with toys to play with, wine to drink and the chance get into the bed of one of the world’s most beautiful women.

Yes, any hot-blooded male whose seasonal fantasy involves no more than waking up in Kate Moss’s bed on Christmas morn – or any morn, for that matter – can now have that fantasy fulfilled from as little as £200!

The large pine double bed, with four turned corner supports, was handmade by Yells of Fairford and occupied the master bedroom of a period Cotswold cottage in Southrop, which the supermodel rented between 2001 and 2004.

Now being sold on behalf of the owners of the property, the bed carries an estimate of £200 to £300, and will go under the hammer at Moore Allen & Innocent’s pre-Christmas sale on Friday, November 21.

The wine and port section of the sale is well represented, with over 400 fine yet affordable bottles including two double magnums of Taylors port, ten dozen bottles of Chablis of various vintages, both regular bottles and magnums, seven dozen bottles of Chateau Ormes de Pez Saint Estephe, three dozen bottles of Montagny Cru and a smattering of Moet et Chandon and Lanson Black Label.

The toy section features a large collection of Britains farmyard vehicle and accessories, including individual boxed tractors at £60 to £90 and group lots of boxed accessories from the 1970s and 80s at £50 to £70 for ten items.

Much older are a collection of Britains painted lead soldiers and cavalry, including an unusual train of six camels, from the early 1900s. The lot is valued at £100 to £150.

Die-cast cars from Dinky and Corgi from the 1960s onwards range from collections of unboxed lose cars to boxed souvenir editions from the Bond films and TV shows including The Avengers, Only Fools and Horses and Noddy.

The best of a large collection of dolls and bears, meanwhile, feature a jangling Humpty Dumpty, made by Merrythought in the 1950s (estimate £30 to £50), and a Simon Halbig doll (£60 to £90) and an Armand Marseille doll (£50 to £80), both circa 1910.

Finally, from the estate of the late antiques and collectables dealer Peter Larner comes pretty much the entire contents of his fascinating Cirencester shop.

Auctioneer Philip Allwood said: “Many people will remember his quirky shop on the corner of Church Street in Watermoor, jam-packed full of vintage TVs, radios, gramophones and other bygones.”

Among the collection are over 7,000 vinyl records, ranging from LPs and 45s from the 1950s and 1970s – including famous recordings by Frank Sinatra, Neil Diamond, Elvis, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Beach Boys, Scott Walker, The Kinks and Pink Floyd – to 10-inch 78s from 1940s and 50s, covering jazz, classical and popular music.
