ANTIQUES spanning the 20th century will go under the hammer at Moore Allen & Innocent in Cirencester on Friday, February 20.
From between 1900 and 1920 comes a pair of bellows made by RA Lister of Dursley in leather and oak, and featuring a carved image and the name of the Grapes Inn. The bellows carry an estimate of £50 to £80.
From the 1930s and 40s is a military map holder with integrated compass by Aston & Mander of Soho. Constructed in boxwood, and topped with rotating handles for scrolling the map left and right, the wartime sat nav has a leather wrist strap on the rear to ease of use, and is expected to achieve between £30 and £50.
From the 1950s and 60s are a delightful collection of Pelham Puppets, the majority of which are in their original card boxes. Handmade in nearby Marlborough, characters include TV favourites Pinky and Perky along with Horse, SS Tyro boy and girl, a gypsy, a Dutch girl and a ballet dancer. The puppets are expected to sell for around £100.
From the 1980s – and very apt considering the recent weather – is a Ski Jump themed pinball machine complete with images of winter sports fans in garish ski jackets and salopettes. A bid of £50 to £80 should secure the artefact, while an old 10 pence piece buys three turns on the game.
Designed in 1992, a stunning pair of Lucciole chandeliers by LUS are still on sale through high-end international lighting specialists, and retail at $3,160 (around £2,200). The 100cm-wide by 110cm-tall Italian-designed chandeliers in chrome and glass are expected to sell for between £400 and £600 each.
Meanwhile, contemporary items from the residual contents of a 20-bedroom mansion will be sold, including settees, chaise lounges, porcelain figures, mirrors and over 50 decorative table lamps, with prices starting at £30 each. Among the best is a pair of cherubic lamp stands estimated at £70 to £100.
The auctioneers have been sworn to secrecy over the identity of the family whose possessions filled 39 containers, leading to much speculation from bidders when the first consignment was sold back in January.
