The first sale of the year (held on the 5th January) proved to be a good start to 2007.

The majority of the highest prices realised on the day were from the “brown” furniture but there were a few welcome surprises coming from the more general section of the sale.
Curtains proved to be popular with the two lots we had making well above estimate, five boxes of crewel work curtains made £640 and a collection of silk ones made £190. A modern Ercol dining suite achieved a staggering £500 and an enamelled cast iron roll top bath realised £260.

Friday 19th January sales catalogue is available to view on line now. With just 500 lots it is a smaller sale than usual but includes a good cross section of items from furniture to china as well as a collection of Pelham puppets including the Skeleton, Wolf & Witch.
