Statement Irregularities and deductions
The increased pressure on the RPA to pay out outstanding sums from the 2005 single payment scheme has resulted in a number of payment statement irregularities and queries over the last few weeks. We are aware from feedback that in particular the following may arise:
(a) You have two sets of normal entitlements with the same ID but a different use by date.
(b) Deductions have been made without previous notification and without full explanation.
(c) Payments received in full where it is believed deductions might have been applied.
(d) Entitlement areas differing from initial registration to confirmatory statement.
(e) Incorrect final amount.
In all cases, seeking clarification through the helpline process has simply not been possible.
Our advice is to check the payment statement in detail once it is received. Whilst you might be delighted finally to have obtained 100% of the money that you are owed, it is important to make sure that it tallies with what you think the payment should be and that the entitlement statement is correct. An error on the latter will continue for the next seven years.
If you do have errors, we advise that a letter should be sent immediately to the RPA at Newcastle formally requesting a reappraisal. The letter should include your SBI and the specific detail which is in doubt. Should you require assistance or help in clarifying the position, do please come back to Paul Oughton or any member of the agricultural team.
